Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from UGC-recognized universities/institutions.
  • Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Third-gender categories require at least 50% marks.
  • Candidates currently pursuing their Master’s degree or those waiting for their final year results can also apply provisionally. However, they must complete their degree with the required percentage within two years from the GSET result declaration date.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper age limit specified for candidates applying for GSET 2026 to prove eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor.

Application Fees

  • General / General-EWS / SEBC (Non-creamy layer) Candidates: Rs. 900/- + Bank Charges
  • SC / ST / Third Gender Candidates: Rs. 700/- + Bank Charges
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Candidates: Rs. 100/- + Bank Charges

Selection Process

  • Paper I (100 Marks, 50 Questions): Consists of general questions intended to assess teaching and research aptitude, reasoning capability, comprehension, and general awareness. (Duration: 1 Hour – 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM).
  • Paper II (200 Marks, 100 Questions): Based strictly on the subject selected by the candidate. (Duration: 2 Hours – 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM).
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
